WILLS

A will is the only legal document where you can decide what will happen to your assets after your death.  If you die intestate (without a will) it will be the laws of intestacy that decide who will receive your estate and not your next of kin.

Why make a will?

  • To decide who will receive your estate
  • Ensure your spouse / partner will receive your assets
  • Appoint guardians for children under 18
  • Can reduce the inheritance tax liability on your estate
  • To choose the executors who will deal with your estate
  • Specify any particular funeral arrangements you have
  • To make gifts to charities or friends
  • Peace of mind for you and your family

Once you have made a will it is important to review it regularly, every 5 years or if there are changes in your circumstances.

For your assurance and peace of mind all documentation is produced by full members of the Society of Will Writers who have full professional indemnity insurance.

It is never too early to make a will, but don't leave it too late!
